Why Berlin real estate is attracting foreign investors


The German capital has some of the lowest real estate prices in Europe.

A square metre in a top location in Berlin costs around 1,500 euros which equals about 2,229.60 usd. In comparison buying a square metre in London costs around 15,000 euros or 22,296.00 usd.

Most buyers speculate that an economic growth will hit Berlin and the returns will be a lot higher than in the rest of Europe.

Berlin has some classic central areas on the former west side like Charlottenburg, Schoeneberg, Wilmersdorf which are always in demand. The east side of the city is considered much more trendy and buyers look into Prenzlauer Berg, Friedrichshain, Mitte and Pankow.

Nonstop flights to airport Berlin-Tegel and the United States exist since the year 2001. Visitors do not have to connect via Frankfurt, Munich or Dusseldorf.
The soon to come new airport Berlin Brandenburg international Schoenefeld will have a positive affect on the south east area of Berlin, Koepenick, Neukoelln and Treptow.
